Why We Need Heroes in Movies - 1730 Words

Thomas Fuselier Why do we need heroes? Professor James Winters While they may be very different from one another almost every movie must have some type of hero. Screen writers and movie directors must constantly develop these different types of heroes to please the many different attitudes and opinions of movie goers. Movie enthusiast all have different reasons for liking the movie heroes they do and it is up to the screen writers, actors, and directors to successfully please the movies target audience. Numerous studies have tried to reveal just exactly what people consider a hero to be. Movies that show the underdog as triumphant give real people hope that even though one may be up against a mu ch more powerful foe, it is possible to come out on top. Superheroes first became extremely popular within the pages of comic books so it was only natural that film makers adopted the idea of superheroes into movies as well. People flock to superhero movies to satisfy their need for fantasy. Superhero movies frequently depict an average Joe who is somehow given amazing super human powers that real men and women have been fantasizing about for years. When thinking about movies that follow this sequence of events, the first movie that comes to my mind is Spider Man. The movie starts out by showing the main character as a weak and nerdy high school student, but a field trip to a research lab changed his life forever. He is bitten by a spider that gives him super human powers that he uses to fight crime and injustice. Viewers are enticed by movies like Spiderman because they wish that they could actually obtain these super human powers too. While many people would like these powers to h ave the ability to better society, many would also enjoy the powers for more cynical uses. Many people can relate to the feeling of being weak and helpless, so seeing heroes like Spiderman in theShow MoreRelatedAnti-Heros1411 Words   |  6 Pages COMM 246 04/11/2012 Modern Anti-Heroes In modern media violence is worshiped and the hero is not always a law abiding citizen. The Conflict Theory Gives Me A Better Understanding Of My...

Conflict theory gives me a better understanding of how my ethnicity and race are pivotal in shaping me, understanding my role in society and determines the treatment I receive from society. For example, the conflict perspective views racism and inequality towards minorities, like me as a way for the so-called superior and majority race to keep control and power over minorities. They do this, by perpetuating institutionalized or structured racism, pitting minorities against each other, and limiting resources. Institutional racism is defined as a complex of embedded, systemic practices that disadvantage racial and ethnic minority groups, and, in consequence, needs to be assessed indirectly as well—for instance, in analyses of historically patterned discrimination and of the unintended, but still discernible, adverse impact of public policies and programs (Seabrook Wyatt-Nichol, 2016, p.20). Therefore, being a minority means that being equally qualified as anyone else does not ensure I’ll get the job, getting the same grade point level as a White individual does not mean I’ll get in the school, and the work I put in at my job won’t be equivalent to the paycheck I receive or reflect the position that I deserve. The institutions that I belong to are filled with the dominant race, the educators at my school, the politicians from my city, and CEOs of companies. Applied AI is concerned with producing software which is â€Å"intelligent† It is intelligent in that it is based on what we know about human reasoning and other mental abilities We are therefore talking about a branch of advanced computing – computer technology – rather than social science Knowledge engineering The term â€Å"knowledge engineering† is often used to mean the process of designing, building and installing an expert system or other knowledge-based system. Some authors use the term to mean just the knowledge acquisition phase. Experts An expert is an experienced practitioner in his/her particular field. More than that, he/she is a highly effective problem-solver and decision-taker in that field. Experts have three qualities: * They make good decisions * They make those decisions quickly * They are able to cope with a wide range of problems. Experts and expert systems Note that: The task that an expert system performs will generally be regarded as difficult. An expert system almost always operates in a rather narrow field of knowledge. The field of knowledge is called the knowledge domain of the system. There are many fields where expert systems can usefully be built. There are also many fields where they can’t. Note also that an expert can usually explain and justify his/her decisions. Reasons for building an E. S. One might build an expert system for any or all of the following reasons: * To archive an expert’s knowledge, to insure against the day when he/she leaves, or retires, or dies. * To disseminate his/her knowledge, so that it is available in more (possibly many more) places than the location of the expert. * To ensure uniformity of advice/decisions. As a basis for training other specialists. Advantages of expert systems E. S. have the following advantages over human experts: * The knowledge is permanent * The knowledge is easily replicated * The knowledge is represented explicitly, and can be evaluated * The system is consistent – whereas human practitioners have bad days, computers don’t. * Once built, running costs are low Disadvantages of exp ert systems a) Developing an expert system usually costs a great deal of time money b) Historically, there has been a high failure rate in E. S. projects * The project may well fail during development – most likely during the â€Å"knowledge acquisition† phase. * The development may succeed, but the organisation may fail to accept and use the finished system. c) A human expert can update his/her knowledge in the light of * Common sense * Knowledge derived from other domain * Contacts with other experts. An expert system can’t. Choosing an E. S. project a) Because of cost, and the danger of failure, it is important that E. S. projects are carefully chosen. ) The expense must be justified, in the light of the possible benefits. c) E. S. technology must be appropriate a. the right kind of expertise is involved b. Make sure it isn’t a problem which conventional programming could do better. d) Management, and the participants, must support the project fully. Possible expert systems – case histories For discussion; The following seven problem areas may, or may not, be suitable for computerisati on as expert systems. * A certain third world country has a large population, very few trained doctors, and insufficient resources to train many more. It is proposed to provide paramedics, who can be trained relatively cheaply and easily, with medical kits and portable PCs, each PC to be loaded with an expert system that can advise on the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of common diseases. * The housing department in a provincial English town is overworked, although the staff turnover is quite low. Much of the work the staff do involves interviewing clients, and there is a clear pattern of questioning (which varies to a limited degree, depending on the circumstances of the client). It is proposed to build an expert system, which will direct the questioning process. A firm of wine importers relies heavily on its chief wine expert, who is skilled at selecting wines that are destined to be popular, on the basis of their taste, colour, scent etc. She is soon to retire. Business Plan in Enterprise Education †Free Samples to Students

Question: Discuss about the Business Plan in Enterprise Education. Answer: Introduction A business plan is a document that frameworks the operations of a business venture that is going to be commenced. It has all the necessary information regarding the business starting from the process of incorporation to the revenue streams that are expected from the business. It is a document that helps entrepreneurs to attract the investors as it talks about the prospect of the business with financial figures to back up the propositions (Schaper et al. 2014). In this assignment two business plans are going to be compared in order to understand the concept clearly and recognize entrepreneurial business plan strategies that facilitated the organisations to achieve their objectives and be successful. The business plan of the organisations that is going to be compared is Blueprints Business Planning Pty Ltd (BBP) and Growth Management and Strategies (GMS). I have chosen Growth Management and Strategies from Bplan.com as it is from the same industry as Blueprints Business Planning Pty Lt d. The comparison will be held section wise according to the sections presented in the example. Including the appendix the Bplan of BBP is divided in 7 sections, whereas for GMS there are 8 sections. An executive summary is the prologue of the plan and should be divided in proper rational sections in order to prepare the reader for the contents in the following document. The executive summary of BBP is sectioned in four categories, the headings used are self explanatory, the first section is business idea and goals it clearly states the name, nature, address and the names of the employees of the company along with the purpose or the goal. It also mentions all the services of the company as well as the target market (Finch, 2016). The sales and the revenue expectation of the first year of commencement are also mentioned. It provides a clear idea of what the company is about and what are the objectives in brief. The next segment is marketing; this section briefly states the target market and the methods of marketing that will be used to promote the business to the mentioned market. It also states some of the figures that the company has found form the market research. The operations segment states the designation of the employee and the base of operation along with an idea of the equipments that is necessary (Mason and Stark, 2004, p. 227-248). One of the major aspects of a business plan is the financial segment here it states that the company will be self-funded and the amount of initial capital that will be provided by the directors of the organisation is also mentioned. It also states that that the company will not borrow unless there is dire need for money (Verbovskiy, 2014, p.2) Growth Management and Strategies Here the executive summary is divided in three sub-sections the introduction of the executive summary provides an idea of the company as well as the objective of the company along with the objective of the plan which. Here there is a graphical representation of the sales, gross margin and net profit expected figures for the next three years. The next sections are the objectives which are written in crisp clear language, this helps in understanding the steps that the company will take better. The mission section of the executive summary states the target market in brief, as well as some of the values and principles that the company will follow in the course of the venture. The employment strategy is also briefly stated along with the some of the human resource strategies. The third sub-division stated in bullet points what the company is going to do in order to achieve the objectives that have been stated. Comparison: The executive summary of BBP is clearly more structured and provided much more information of the company than that of GMS, BBP states all the necessary information regarding the company and the business and what the reader immediately understands what to expect from the information in the following document. Market research is essential part of the BBP plan is evident it is a strategy that provides a company with concrete base to from the arguments upon. On the other hand, the graphical representation provides a better idea of the forecasted figures. Background or Company Summary The first subsection is the mission statement, this portion clearly states the goals and mission of the company along with the values and principles based on which the organisation will operate in the future. This is the first step of strategic management. Here the company mentions the four most important stakeholders of the company to be the client, the community, the employees and the owners. The next section is a brief history regarding the story behind the process of incorporation, this information extents the readers idea of the company. Lastly business goals, it provides information regarding short term as well as long term proceedings of the company along with projected figures. The exit strategy of the company has also been stated which makes it a holistic approach to the business plan. The second section is called the company summary and it has two sub sections, start-up summary and the company ownership. The introduction paragraph states the background of the owner and the skills and resource that he has at disposal for the organisation. The first subsection is a comprehensive graphical as well as tabular explanation of the finances of the start up venture. It provides a holistic view of how the owners propose to carry on the business. It states the start up expense and requirements in terms of expense and assets. The total assets and liabilities along with the investment has been listed along with the figures in a tabular format which is easy to understand. The third portion is the ownership summary which states the nature of the business, and the name of the owner, which is repetitive information as it was stated in the introductory paragraph itself the only information that is additional is the exact nature of the business that is LLC. Comparison: The approach of the second section is different for both the companies, BBP has a structured information process without any figures or graphs, on the other hand the information stated by GMS is repetitive but the most important information is supplied in comprehensive tabular format along with the graphs. As a part of strategic management the company has to sure of the initial requirements, assets and liabilities in order to invest the correct amount. It is also important to recognise the importance of the stakeholders of the company in order to make plans and strategies to benefit them (Thomas et al., 2014, p. 34). Marketing or Service/ Market Analysis The third section is divided in many heading and sub headings providing a comprehensive idea of the strategic plan that the management of the company has for the success of the venture. The first heading in this section is Market research; it lists all the information sources and the process by which the company has initiated the market research process. Market analysis is the next category, industry analysis, seasonality; competition in the market as well as potential strategic alliances has been discussed in this section. These are important information for the management to make strategic management decisions in order to keep up with the business environment. The SWOT analysis of the company offers an idea of the internal and external analysis brief of the company and its potential (Brooks et al. 2014, p. 23). The next section is a comprehensive marketing plan where the marketing activities along with the information to back up the plan have been stated. All the four Ps of the marketing mix is answered in this segment. This section not only focuses on the Promotion or IMC part of marketing it also focuses on the strategic management part, in understanding the target market, requirements of the customers and their behaviour towards the service that the company has to offer (Khan, 2014, p. 95). It also states the inputs that the company has to make in order to reach out to the customers. Lastly the section covers the pricing policy of the services and an explanation for the price that has been quoted (Sutton, 2013). Here the two sections of the Bplan is going to be discussed first is service section which briefly states the services and the pricing policy, the information in this section is incomplete as it does not state the exact service and the reason for the pricing policy, the only relevant information here is the fact that the company will offer a customised service for the clients along with the fixed services which will have fixed rates. The next section is market analysis summary, it includes market segmentation, target market analysis, industry analysis. The introduction states briefly about the clientele that the company will serve and the gap that the service is going to fill. The market segmentation projects the potential customers and the following section explains the target market of the company in three tiers. This section is differently from the previous as it explains the target market and the strategic planning behind the process (Abrams, 2003). Like the previous company the industry analysis is provides an idea of the opportunities and threats that the company have in terms of external business environment. Though there is no SWOT analysis undertaken, the customers and buying behaviours are also discussed which is an addition to the strategic management process. Comparison: The BBP business plan states all the aspects of the 4Ps of a marketing mix but the GMS plan lacks the pricing strategy, explanation of the service as well as the promotional aspect it just focuses on the market analysis of the business. In the strategic management of a business marketing plays an important role in order to make sure that the company is reaching out to the correct target market and developing the services or products according to the requirement of the customers. Operations or Strategy and Implementation Summary This section answers all the particulars regarding the operation process of the start up, as it is a new company therefore there are a number of legal operations the company has to undertake in order to incorporate the business, it mentions the shareholders and the ownership divisions as well as the licensing that has to be initiated. This is followed by the management details. Organisation structure and staffing is the following section, another important decision of the strategic management process. The staffing goal that has been stated are for a period of two to three years, the per annum salary along with the job role requirement criteria is mentioned in this section. The next section has additional information regarding the professional advisers who will work as third party help for the business operations like lawyers, bookkeepers, insurance brokers etc. This segment is followed by insurance and the security measures that the company needs to take, business premises and equipments that are required in the long run as well as in the short run is also mentioned. This is important as all these factors add up to the expenses of the company (Jones and Penaluna, 2013, p. 804-814). The approaches that the company will take in order to assure the quality of the service is mentioned in the production process segment which is followed by the implementation of technology and the risks that are associated with the venture. It also explains a contingency plan that will allow the company t mitigate the risks. Risk management is a significant in management as it helps the company to be papered by the dynamic of the industry. Growth Management and Strategies This section is like a miscellaneous segment in the business plan it talks about all the strategies that are going to be undertaken by the company to achieve the objectives. The first sub section is regarding the strategies that the company will use to gain competitive advantage, not only that it also states why the strategies are going to work. As the service is not yet clear the competitive advantage may seem a little vague (McKeever, 2016). Marketing strategies are the following section where the exact plan or strategy is not discussed rather the way to decide upon the plan of action is mentioned. It says that the focus will be three-tiered but does not give out a holistic view of the actions that the company will take. Sales strategies are mentioned in a comprehensive way, it briefly states about the employment opportunities of the company followed by the process that will be undertaken. The sales forecast of first year and the next two years are shown but are arbitrary and lack logical base (McKenzie, 2017, pp. 2278-2307). Comparison: The BBP structure of the business plan is more concrete and gives out information that are relevant than the GMS one. With the help of the BBP plan it is clear that in order to establish a business in the service sector it is important to strategies about the operations clearly (Bridge and Hegarty, 2013). As a business plan is documented before the business is running there are a number of assumptions that the management has to consider these assumptions and market information that are gathered from the base of the financial projections. Sales mix forecast, cash flow forecast, projected profit and loss statement, owners personal expense along with assets and liabilities are provided in a tabular form in order to determine the success or failure of the business (Hiduke, and Ryan, 2013). Much like the BBP, the financial plan of GMS also follows the same pattern; there is also use of graphs in the document which makes the projections easy to understand and the numbers easily comprehendible. There are a number of assumptions which are briefly stated. Comparison: The assumptions are important in a business plan and the absence of these in the GMS makes the document less argumentative from the entrepreneurs end. The BBP plan has a good explanation of the expected ROI based on a market research (Feenstra, 2014, p. 116). Conclusion From the above discussion it is clear that the Business plan is one of the most important documents while venturing in a new business and the Bplan presented by BBP is more a comprehensive, structured and educative than GMS. The strategic management steps that has been highlighted in the process is the importance of a market research, understanding the customer and their needs and specifying the product or service, stating the stakeholders importance, values and principles based on which the objectives and mission of the company is based. It is also important to have a logical flow of information while documenting the business plan. Reference list: Abrams, R.M., 2003. The successful business plan: secrets strategies. Matlab Image RotationI used the size() function to determine the size of the input file's picture's matrix, and then used the inverse transformation matrix shown below to determine the source pixel for each destination pixel. My program determined whether the source pixel was within the 320 x 200 dimensions, and if so, painted the destination pixel into the output file and if not, left the value as 0, i.e. black.Image ShearingThis program was very similar to the image rotation's code. Similarly, the program determined whether the source pixel of the picture was within the 320 x 200 frame using the inverse shearing transformation matrix shown below. Again, if so, it painted the destination pixel into the output file and if not, left the value as 0, i.e. black.Edge DetectionInstead of using loops for this program, detect.m uses matrices to detect the horizontal and vertical edges for all the pixels at one go.A closeup of pixels.

Rowe's Cosmological Argument Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Rowe's Cosmological Argument - Essay Example The Principle of Sufficient Reason follows the idea that everything must have an explanation. In the arguments for God’s existence, this principle is commonly used to explain the causal or creative power. There are normally four unique forms of the Principle of Sufficient Reason. The first one is known as the Principle of Sufficient Reason of Becoming is the first form and it states that if an object’s new form appears, there must have been another similar state. The Principle of Sufficient Reason of knowing states that for judgment to express some knowledge, there must be sufficient ground which serves as a basis for the knowledge. This quality gives judgment a level of being true a fact that can be used on the judgment when it is being used for something else. The principle of Sufficient Reason of Acting states that all human decisions are results of an object that has the power to determine the will of humans by acting as the motive for such a will. Just like the Principle of Sufficient Reason, the cosmological argument maintains that the existence of the universe had to come from somewhere (Sullivan 330). In other words, there must have been an original or first cause that made it possible for the universe to exist. The cosmological point of view highlights the relevance of the first cause, arguing that the first cause does exist and is most certainly recognizable as God. In this regard, the cosmological world view about the existence of God may require the Principle of Sufficient Reason to put more emphasis on the fact that the first cause, or God, has an explanation. ... In this regard, the cosmological world view about the existence of God may require the Principle of Sufficient Reason to put more emphasis on the fact that the first cause, or God, has an explanation. Rowe in his explanation of the Cosmological Argument, identifies two parts of the Principle of Sufficient Reason: the first part requires that an explanation is necessary for the existence of everything, which means that one must be able to identify the cause of any being that is in existence. The second part of the principle requires that for any positive fact, there has to be an explanation. Rowe argues that there are three ways of explaining the existence of a being: explanation by itself, by another being or by nothing (Rowe 18). This means that the existence of all beings, and to a great extension, the whole universe, is fully accounted for. I completely agree with the views of the Cosmological Argument presented by Rowe. There has to be an explanation or a reason why the universe exists or why things are the way they are. For the universe to come to existence, it must have come from somewhere. The cause of this existence is definitely a Supreme Being, or God. I disagree with those who oppose the Cosmological Argument saying that the existence of the universe does not necessarily mean that there is a Supreme Being. I also support Leigniz’s Principle of Sufficient Reason which implies the same thing implied by the Cosmological Argument: that there must be sufficient reason for everything that exists or happens and this sufficient reason is definitely God. Many people normally ask then if this is the case, is there a sufficient reason for God to exist (Rowe and Trakakis 3). In my opinion, God’s existence

Diabetes Management Education for a Hispanic female patient Term Paper

Diabetes Management Education for a Hispanic female patient - Term Paper Example Evaluation Tool- Collected Data 8 B. On Whether the Goal Was Achieved or Not, and Why 8 C. How Nurse and Client Will Know Whether Learning Occurred or Not 8 D. Encountered Barriers 9 E. On Whether Methods Choice Address Learning Need 9 F. What Went Well, What to Do Differently Next Time 9 References 10 PART ONE A. Learning Needs Identification The patient is a Hispanic female with diabetes. Given the nature of the disease, a large part of any intervention protocol needs the knowledge and active participation of the patent in order to succeed. Nutrition and the management of the patient pharmacology ate important aspects of that protocol, and form part of the learning needs. There is a good rationale for this one-on-one learning intervention in the literature, given the findings on the ability of conventional individual education or IE to improve patient outcomes for those with diabetes. At the same time, findings on the non-sustainability of those outcomes indicate that there is a ne ed for continuous education, follow-up and monitoring (Sperl-Hillen et al., 2013, p. 104). There is also an identified need for health education among the Hispanic populations in the United States due to the growing prevalence of the disease among this group, in greater numbers than in the rest of the population and greater than the national average, indicating the need for educational intervention (Chukwueke and Cordero-MacIntyre, 2010). Meanwhile the value of culture-specific education on a sustained short-term basis in improving health outcomes among Hispanics with diabetics has also been proven in the literature, indicating that there is hope in a learning program such as this one (Ojo et al., 2010). The perspective on a teaching protocol or intervention that is sensitive to the unique cultural perspectives of Hispanics is also presented in the literature as being of great value in treating Hispanics with diabetes and in radically increasing the effectiveness of such teaching in terventions and protocols (Cutillli, 2006). In this latter regard a study on the use of a culturally relevant presentation form, a fotonovela, in the relaying and effective education of diabetes care and management among Hispanics with diabetes has indeed proven the value of culturally sensitive educational interventions for managing the disease (Unger et al. 2009, pp. 145-147). B. Needs Identification- Assessment Information Employed The diabetes knowledge scale employed in Unger et al. (2009) is used for this program for educating the Hispanic female patient on self-care and management of diabetes. This is appropriate given that even for high school students, the knowledge scale was effective in assessment. As an aside the intentions on behavior consisting of four key questions on behavior are also kept as potential assessment questions for intent in behavior (Unger et al., 2009, pp. 146-147). C. Learning Needs Assessment There is an assessed readiness on the part of the patient t o learn and to improve with regard to being able to treat the disease and keep the consequences under check. The motivation level is high, and given this there is hope that the health outcomes for the patient will be better than in the studies over time. Moreover, with the positive attitude established, there is hope that the educational interventions will yield the effective transfer of knowledge to the patient, resulting in the increase in the

Literature Review of Approaches to Strategic Change

Literature Review of Approaches to Strategic Change Organizations require change as they live through time. This change which adjusts according to new demands and procedures is known as Strategic Change. This paper sheds light on the importance and approaches of strategic change as an important part of the strategic management. It studies two models of strategic change management and an organizational example which requires strategic change. Introduction Pasmore (1994) writes that we live in a dynamic environment where change is happening to everybody and everything. He notes that this change encompasses our organizations as well. Pasmore (1994) further notes that many of us, even the organizations usually do not realize this change and this is where they face competitive disadvantage, assuming a non-monopolistic society. To deal with such changes, and also with many others, the educators and researchers of this world introduced the notion of strategic change. Strategic change is a concept involving a reorientation of an organizations resources, both human and physical, products, services and structure. An organization needs strategic changes to, Maintain, or enhance it competition position Grow Growth and stability is an important factor, probably which all organizations strive for. To keep growing then, an organization has to evolve. The market in which an organization exists is pretty much like our environment that surrounds us. Through the process of natural selection those fittest to survive the wrath of the natural change, live. The others disappear into history books. The responsibility of bringing about a change in an organization rests greatly upon the shoulders of the managers of the organization. Because of the variable and highly diversified nature of organizations, the theories and models of strategic change management are numerous. In fact, the truth remains that each manager of the firm can up with a new model to support and direct his organization. Nevertheless, researchers have developed models which basically serve the purpose of enhancing the thinking abilities of to-be or current managers and to actually provide them with a direction. Literature Review To define a complex concept like strategy in a line or two would be unjust to the concept itself (Sadler and Craig, 2003). The concept can however be explained by linking various phrases. According to Saddler and Craig (2003), strategy is the Purpose or mission The policies The decision Implementation of decisions Analyzing and utilizing strengths and opportunities Gaining competitive advantage Basically, strategy is the course of action used to achieve the major objectives for an entity (Brown and Harvey, 2006). Tichy (1983) defines strategic change as the modification in the structure, resources, products and services of an organization. In light of the discontinuous, large scale changes facing the world, organizations will be required to undergo major strategic reorientations.(Tichy, 1983) Because of various reasons, including the shift in technological progress and increase in overall market competitiveness, organizations are finding it increasingly indispensible to bring about strategic change (Brown and Harvey, 2006). When bringing about a strategic change in an organization, the consideration of the culture of that organization is extremely important because the culture of an organization includes basically the set of priorities and values in the air of an organization (Brown and Harvey, 2006). The reason why most strategic changes fail is the inability of an organization to deal with change itself (Hyde, np). Strategic Change: The Models The introduction section of this paper clearly points out that strategic change cannot be explained and executed through any one standard model. In fact, there can be as many models as the organizations in this world and probably more. Some famous models however do exist. This section therefore is going to talk about three of the models. CBA Model of Strategic Change CBA is an acronym for Conceive, Believe and Achieve (Black and Gregersen, 2002). These three are in general the three dimensions of the model. Talking in terms of the model specifically, Conception, Belief and Achievement have been defined as the brain barriers hindering the implementation and the execution of the change (Black and Gregersen, 2002). Conceiving the idea is actually making the employees see its worth. This includes making the employees believe that the current practices, that were right yesterday are not right anymore and therefore must be changed with new ones. This is probably the biggest obstacle that the executives face while trying to bring about a strategic change in the organization. Next comes, Believing! Black and Gregersen (2002) define this as the second brain barrier to bring about a successful strategic change. Under this point, the employees have to believe in the fact that the path they are taking to bring about the change is correct. That is, they should believe that they are doing that new thing rightly. Last is Achieving. The employees should have the sense of achievement regarding the successful strategic change. This factor is important for two reasons. Firstly because, you stop trying when you know you have achieved something. The knowing of the end point thus, marks the successful shift of strategy. Secondly, the sense of achievement is important to encourage undertake further ventures. These might sound like three, unconnected pieces. The binding force for these pieces then is the idea and need of Leadership. CBA model believes that without proper education, training and support of the employees, bringing about a significant strategic change in an organization is not possible (Black and Gregersen, 2002). Furthermore, this model holds that the executives should always be champions of the change. The reason is that the employees would always be as serious about the venture as the executives. Another model for strategic change considers teamwork more important than leadership (Fogg, 1994). This model deems the following factors as important when considering and implementing strategic change. Security of future Provision of roadmap Setup of priorities Optimized resource allocation Get inputs and ideas Gain commitment Coordinate the execution The factors are pretty self explanatory in their own self. The point or the binding force of these factors, according to the team based model is Team Work. According to this, working together and understanding each others needs helps bringing about the change in the true sense. Strategic Change: The Crux It is useful to be reinforced here that the last section, Strategic Change: The Models can go on infinitely. Starting from the day the term, strategic management was coined till now thousand of models for a successful Strategic Change have been made. Thus, it is impossible to fit in all the models in this paper. The crux however of successful strategic change can be defined. Understanding the Culture of an Organization Brown and Harvey (2006) state that the culture of an organization is in effect the values held and shared by the members, which differentiates one organization from another. Further Brown and Harvey (2006) state that the culture of an organization has the following characteristics: Individual autonomy Sensitivity to the needs of the customers Support Interest in developing and carrying out new ideas Openness of communication Risk management Understanding the culture thus, is extremely important because it is the employees of the firm that make up its culture and then again, it is the employees of the form that have to execute the change. Unless all the employees believe and change their working modes, significant strategic change cannot be brought by and any investment that is then done will be in vain. Balogun (2010) points out that the culture of an organization is the interlinked set of organizational subsystems in which the paradigm drives the visible manifestations of culture, such as the organizational symbols, routines and rituals, stories, control systems and structures. These assumptions and rituals then define the type of change that is being brought into the organization. This is to say that a change in these basics of the organization will bring about a transformational change. A change, holding the culture more or less constant is a realignment change (Balogun, 2010). Planning the Change Since the strategic change that is being brought to the firm will affect the future stability and growth of the firm, it is extremely important to take as much time as required to properly plan each and every detail of the change, smoothing out the rough edges by either skillful implementation or incorporation of policies. Fogg (1994) suggests that it is extremely essential for a successful Strategic change to be carefully and consciously tailor the planning course in accordance to the size, complexity, culture and strategic situation of the organization. This planning would be different for a firm in financial and competitive crisis and different for a firm that is seeking expansion. The process of planning according to Fogg (1994) involves three stages: Pre-work: departmental evaluation of the status quo including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats facing the individual members and also the organization as a whole. Priority setting: Discussion on various proposals with respect to finances, environment, market, customers and the overall reputation of the firm and thus setting the priorities according to which the change will be processed. Strategic planning: Discussion of strategies, plan of actions, resources and communications to strategize the change. Post-work: evaluation of the completed plans. Working as a Team Hitt, Ireland and Hoskisson (2009) point out that according to research evidence, the executives who boost about their no mistake making capabilities are more likely to make strategic errors. Thus, when important structural changes are being brought to the organizations, the managers and the executives should work as a team and develop an open communication with the employees. The reason is that it is the employees who really know the work that is going on in the organization. Incorporating them as a team of the bigger picture can help bring about a successful strategic change in the organization. The teams can also be divided into various divisions. Hitt, Ireland and Hoskisson (2009) also mention that the organizations that have a heterogeneous top management i.e. executives with different educational and experiential background, can operate under the benefitting shadow of different perspectives. The idea of working as a team also focuses on the need of a leader for this processing. The leader acts as the central, integrating personality to whom people can deliver their plans and problems. Moreover, the presence of a leader is indispensible lest the entire organization becomes a cookery show where everybody is doing their own cooking and the result is a spoiled main dish. Somebody needs to host the show. Evaluating Finally, as the strategy for change has been implemented, it has to be evaluated. Hyde (np) notes that a change in the behavior of the employees or the general change in the culture of an organization is only visible after the change has been implemented. Thus, once the execution has been completed, the top management should require a proper evaluation of the changed organization. This is important for a lot of reason. The first and the most significant reason is to check whether the results are in accordance to the proposal or not. Punjab University Established by the British in 1882 in Lahore, Punjab University (PU) is the first university to be established in the Asian Sub-continent. It has given to the world gems like Dr. Abdus Salam and Har Gobind Korana. Today, it is a part of Pakistan, still headquartered in the lively, historical city of Lahore. Punjab University has over 500 affiliated colleges and hosts almost 350 examinations for over 450,000 students in Pakistan. Today, even though new universities have come about in Pakistan and Punjab Universitys position has shifted to a competitor rather than a monopolist, it is still a well reputed and looked up to institution in the field of education (Punjab University, 2010). The other side of the coin however is that Islamic Jamiat-e-tulaba, a student union, promoting (rather enforcing) the twisted, orthodox and chauvinist Islamic views in the University. This student body has a hold, stronger beyond imagination. Most of the members of this union are graduates who keep taking up degrees to stay in the campus hostels and thus maintain the hold. This union is funded by the members mostly. They also manage to pull out money from the Vice Chancellors of the University. Moreover, the overall environment of the University is now become conservative. Earlier where the cream of the student body went to PU, it has now become the third or fourth option for students residing in Lahore. Those out of Lahore, place it even down. Most of the professors who are currently educating the youth o Pakistan in universities like Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Lahore School of Economics (LSE), Institute of Business and Administration (IBA) and other started th eir carrier at Punjab University. The loyalties however have changed due to the difference in the salary structure and the general atmosphere of the university. As good professors and promising students choose other universities, the budget of the University for spending on infrastructure and technology has gone down, causing further problems for the status and educational ability of the University. Even though in terms of area and campus, Punjab University still beats all other Universities in Pakistan. It has campuses all over the country. However, in terms of organization, management, educational capability and investment PUs reality has been taken over by other new and well managed Universities in the country. What Punjab University now needs is a well managed Strategic Change. The Strategic Change Proposal It is evident enough that the goal of the change that would be brought about in the university would be to steer it to the same fame and respect it had throughout the 20th century. Following are some proposal for the change. Increase the Budget: for any strategic change that is to be brought in an organization, investment in a must. And what PU requires is a transformational change. This extra amount of fund is proposed to be used on renovating the classrooms, laboratories, libraries and on hiring new Professors. This budget, if utilized optimally can also be used to renovate the hostels for the students who come from outside Lahore. Reduce the hold of Islamic Jamiat: With all the terrorism been listed in the CVs of Muslims, this Islamic student body, watching any un-Islamic acts in the university, fighting and punishing people for mistakes looks like a terrorist group to many people. Parents think twice before sending their child into this kind of atmosphere. Thus, the reduction in the number of excellent students coming in. Especially students, who did their O and A levels instead of the government matriculation program, hardly ever choose to come to PU. One of the contributing reasons to this is the strong hold of a strict Islamic body. Management should strategically remove the hold of this union. Marketing: no matter how good an organization is, people come to know of it mostly when the product is being marketed. The product PU is selling is education and a memorable university life and thus, it should strongly focus on marketing the product. It may require initial investment but the results would be awesome. It can also help in changing the perspective of people regarding the conservative and strict environment of the University. Moreover, students would see PU as a good option in terms of their future. This change can be strategically planned by the board of directors. To improve the process further, one student representative from each department can be chosen to present ideas, demands and existing problems. Through this, the stakeholders i.e. the students wishes and problems will be answered and they will become a part of the Strategic Change process. Moreover to reinforce this idea to inclusion of stakeholders in the process of change, from each campus a faculty member can be selected to represent/department the problems that campus/department. Conclusion Organizations have to grow with time. The last two decade especially saw a remarkable social shift in Pakistan. Media grew and so grew awareness. This it became extremely important from the organizations in Pakistan to grow and change socially but also in terms of the product they offered. One the renowned organization in Pakistan is Punjab University. However it so seems that it has not grown dynamically in the social context especially. Educationally, obviously there have been forms for example the construction of the computer Labs. However, this is not enough. Students come to university, not only for education but also to live a life before they enter into the practical world. For the vulnerable age that the University entering students are in, it is very important to give them a memorable life with sports, social events seminars so that they do not think that they are missing out on the life that other university going students are having. Thus, PU should change strategically to reduce i) the hold to the Islamic union, ii) invest to improve infrastructure iii) focus on marketing.

The Importance of Character in Le Colonel Chabert :: Le Colonel Chabert

The Importance of Character in Le Colonel Chabert      Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Le Colonel Chabert exhibits the relationship between strong and weak characters. The degree of strength within a character reflects how well the character survives in society. In society, weak characters often have no identity, profession or rank. Stronger characters have power to succeed from inner confidence, motivation and ambition. Any drastic changes brought to the body or soul by the environment corrupts that person's strength thereby affecting their ability to function properly in society. This comparison of characters gives an understanding of Balzac's pessimistic view of nineteenth century society. A character's strength and energy in the novel determines their survival in society. Colonel Chabert has been known to be a courageous hero in the past, "... je commandais un r‚giment de cavalerie †¦ Eylau. J'ai ‚t‚ beaucoup dans le succÃ…  es de la c‚lÃ…  bre charge..." Once he returns to Paris after his injury, he loses his identity and becomes the " weak character " of society. This is a rapid decline down the "ladder of success" and Chabert tries desperately to climb back up to the top, where he had been before. At the beginning of the novel, there is a vision of a slow non-energetic man walking progressively up the stairs to lawyer Derville's study which contrasts the boisterous energy of the clerks. Chabert reaches Derville's study and is determined to find the lawyer to help him find justice for his infortunes, "... me suis-je d‚termin‚ †¦ venir vous trouver. Je vous parlerai de mes malhers plus tard." Chabert demonstrates some energy left in him by his will to retrieve everything that he lost. This energy to gain back his power changes to furious and revengeful energy upon learning what his wife had done, "Les yeux de l'homme ‚nergique brillaient rallum‚s aux feux du d‚sir et de la vengeance." After a period of time, Chabert loses hope and bids farewell forever. He gives up his identity to become an unknown person as he realizes that his strength of character is not enough to keep him alive in this society. He sees himself weakening when seeing his wife and her children as he does not have the heart to break up her family. He tells his wife, "Je ne r‚clamerai jamais le nom que j'ai peut-ˆtre illustr‚. Je ne suis plus qu'un pauvre diable nomm‚ Hyancinthe.

Pet Peeve: Public Display of Affection Essay

Isn’t it annoying when someone is trying to go to his or her locker before and after class, but could not because couples are making out in front the lockers? It is also annoying when people are holding hands and walking really slow and students who are trying to get somewhere are unable to do so. Public Display of Affection, a. k. a PDA, has always been controvercial. In fact, many are against it and believe there should be limits on PDA. Moreover, public display of affection can be expressed in any forms. PDA can range from holding hands to hugging and to even more inappropriate actions such as full making-out session and touching innappropriate places. As a matter fact, PDA is inappropriate and should be kept out of school. But students should also have his or her freedom of expression. In Southington High School, students are given only five minutes to do what ever he or she wants to do before going to his or her next class. However, sometimes students are unable to aquire any of his or her needs because other students are keeping him or her from doing it. Rules against Public Display of Affection should be enforced because it causes a huge distraction. When students are engaged in PDA other student often have a hard time how to deal with it. Should that student look away or stare? PDA can also make students late to his or her next class because lovers are occupying his or her locker. According to the student handbook, being late to class ten minutes or more is considered an unexcused absence or a cut. Also if a student has two or more cuts they will loose there credit. That being said, it should not be the students fault because being tardy to his or her class is often can cause by students who are engaging in PDA. Teachers are also being affected because he or she is responsible to stop PDA from happening, which can affect class time. It is also a possibility that if the teachers cannot meet the requirements of the school he or she may loose his or her job. Everyone have witnessed it and may have even participated. Public Display of Affection has always been an issue everywhere such as the learning environment, working environment, and etc. Some think it is all right to engage in such behavior because a person is entitled to freedom of expression. But others think PDA is risque and lacks etiquette. Many believe that some boundaries should be set on when and where PDA should occur and what kind of PDA should be tolerable. Unfortunately, schools have continuously addressed this issue. As a matter of fact many schools have guidelines setting limits on PDA for student. However, it is often not compromised. PDA should not be acceptable because schools is a place of learning and not the place for students to engage in unsuitable manner. Imagine if the situation was reverse. What if the adults are the one doing it. Wouldn’t it be displeasing to the students to see an adult displaying affection to another adult. Therefore, students should remember that the school is public environment and any inappropriate behaviors can offend others. It is bad enough that other students have to suffer including the adults. Although Public Displays of Affection are displeasing to many it is not right to deprived anyone of freedom of expression. Anyone should be able to express his or her feelings. During the passing time, students have the chance to do what ever he or she wants to do. Some usually go straight to his or her class but others mostly hang out with his or her friends for a little bit before class starts. This is usually the time when students can mingle and talk to other students and see significant others. By restricting PDA in school could take away from a student’s freedom. Public Display of Affection may be displeasing and often inappropriate but it is also a way to express feelings to significant others. It is not right to take away student’s right to be with his or her significant others. Additionally, not all form of Public Display of Affection is bad. For example, hugging a friend is an acceptable manner. Holding hands is also tolerable. These are some form of PDA that should be welcome and not considered improper. Public Display of Affection has always been an issue. Unfortunately, it is unstopable. People will engage in it and no rules can stop it. Many believe it is distracting to the school environment and makes it hard for students including the adults to focus. It is also inappropriate and immature for a young adult student to express feelings towards someone else this way. However, by restricting PDA can take away studen’t freedom of expression.

Free Essays on Howell's â€Å"Edithaâ€Å" Free Essays on Howell's â€Å"Edithaâ€Å" In William Dean Howells’ "Editha", the title character is responsible for George’s death through her persistent and forceful support of war and his involvement in it. They had different beliefs on the righteousness of war, and how it connects to their families’ values, God, and the very idea of killing another man. However, Editha influenced George enough to join the war effort, which winded up killing him after only a few weeks later. The story opens with Editha sitting on her porch pondering weather to let George go to war. When she sees him approaching her house, she "decided that she could not let him stay"(Howells 268). She had an ideal of her husband being a hero, and if George were to go to war, he would fulfill that ideal. Editha explains, "she must put a guard upon herself against urging him to take, for the completion of her ideal of him" (Howells 268). Although she insisted that she did not want to influence him, she boosted the war in every way to show how much it meant to her. She inferred, rather than stated her opinion of what his position in the war should be. Editha described the war as "glorious"(Howells 268). Globalization system of interaction among countries Essays

Globalization system of interaction among countries Essays Globalization system of interaction among countries Essay Globalization system of interaction among countries Essay Introduction Globalization is the system of interaction among the states of the universe in order to develop the planetary economic system. ( David, 2000 ) Globalization besides influences among economic, political, technological, and society around the universe. It reflects two tendencies ; foremost, displacements within states towards market-driven systems of production ; 2nd, the increasing international economic integrating of states through trade, investing, and migration. ( Andrew, 2004 ) Globalization had immense impact on the flexibleness of labour. The relationship of Globalization and Labor Flexibility Back in 1970, the extremum oil which leads to the stagflation, high rising prices and unemployment rate. After that, authorities and industry searched for the Neoliberalism. Industries applied the flexible accretion alternatively of Fordism. They focus on the regulation of the market, cutting public outgo for societal service, deregulating, denationalization, and extinguishing the construct of the public good or community. ( Elizabeth and Garcia, 2000 ) Under this circumstance, states had faced the intense competition than earlier ; hence, states seek for the corporations to beef up the power of its ain for better net income. NAFTA, WTO, OECD, APEC were established to extinguish the trade barrier, facilitate the cross boundary line motion, promote just competitions in free trade country. Meanwhile, the distribution of income becomes unequal among states. It is become clear that the asymmetric in income distribution has created serious societal jobs. To capitalist, in order to bring f orth more net income, the concern theoretical accounts of just-in-time and outsourcing was introduced and it leads to the restructure of international labour market. Industries tried to cut the figure of nucleus workers, and engage more of peripheral workers, such as portion clip workers. Besides, industries besides tended to take advantages from the political party which is in favour of employers side with inexpensive labour and less aggressive labour brotherhood. Mobility of international human resources has become greater than of all time. The Labor had more chances to seek for occupations universe broad. On the other side, the developed states can enroll cheaper labour from less developed states to cut down its cost. Flexible Firm- John Atkinson : The thought of labour flexibleness, it explained how the organisation direction and run their human resource when confronting the competitory economic system in order to be successful and survive. To best explicate the theoretical account of work flexibleness can mention to Atkinson ( 1984 ) . Harmonizing to Atkinson, in his theoretical account, the halfway portion of the house are called Core Group , it consist with employee who are full clip, lasting place, played the cardinal function in the development of organisation. These employees have the grater occupation protection, better publicity, and preparation, earn higher wage and offering better insurances. Traveling toward the exterior, the 2nd portion is called The periphery , it divided into two subdivisions. One is secondary labour market , it consists of the full clip workers but the technique can be entree easy from the market, such as secretary with low technique. Secondary labour normally have low chances for publicity, hen ce, it has the high flow rate with immense figure of labours that bring the higher mobility than the nucleus workers. The other subdivision is Part-timers that consist of workers with free-lance, contract worker, and despatch. Part-timers have less occupation protection, but with such great flexibly, it benefits both the employer and employee. On the other side, the wage, occupation protection, and the insurance have less power to deal. The external of the steadfast consist of workers who are less influence on the company such as outsourcing, subcontracting, and impermanent work bureau. For the internal factors which are illustrated chiefly in three subdivisions ; the first is Functional flexibility . Employees are able to cover with different challenges and undertakings. Company besides provides the employee with complete preparation for them to heighten the occupation content. Employees will hold the ability to get by with assorted demands from the fast changing environment. This brings the advantage both to the organisations and the employees. The 2nd is Numerical flexibility . Company has flexibleness to enroll and put off employees with short notice period. For making so, company reduces the hazard of unsure market and rising prices. Seasonal workers, fixed-term contracts, bureau workers, and participants in particular plan for the unemployed are called numerical flexibleness. The 3rd is Financial flexibility . Employers can depend on the public presentation of employees to supply them with different wage. Company besides can pay in different types, such as hou rly, hebdomadal, monthly or public presentation alternatively of company net income and losingss. In 2000, Esping-Anderson had future explain John Atkinson s work flexibleness ; Temporal Flexibility Company has flexible working hours which can be yearss, seasonal or twelvemonth long such as shiftwork and rostering. Overall, the concern tendency for the current economic system environment is to cut down the figure of nucleus workers. The state of affairs will acquire worst when the economic system recession happens, industries look for cheap labour which can be dismissed at anytime. Development of Foreign Labor in Taiwan Foreign labour has immense influence to the development of Taiwan economic system. Taiwan had applied the usage of different types of flexibleness labour, in this article, in-sourcing technique are farther explained in item. The development of foreign policy can de divided into three phases. Around 1980, Taiwan economic system was to a great extent replied on exporting, during this clip, there was no policy and ordinance of foreign labour. Due to the fast turning figure of illegal foreign labour, Taiwan authorities started to pay attending to this issue. In 1989, the Council of Labor Affairs ( CLA ) decided to open up the market to foreign labour. After1990, the economic system construction of Taiwan had changed, the New Taiwan dollar appreciated against the US dollar and the pay rose. ( Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, 2006 ) The service industry growing quickly during this period. Degree of instruction ascent and the occupation values changed. Taiwan labour were non lament on take parting on 3K occupations which represent manual labour, insanitary working conditions and unsafe conditions. It makes the imbalance of labour market, the deficit of cardinal labour. Industries were seting force per unit area on authorities for importing foreign labour. Meanwhile, authorities had several immense public buildings which needed the labour instantly. Finally, the authorities set up the regulations for using foreign labour in public and private sector. By making so, the authorities hoped to work out the job of basic labour deficit, and to decelerating down the little medium house traveling to cheap labour states ; to protect the occupation chances for local labour. ( Employment A ; Vocational Training Administration Council of Labor Affairs ) The deduction of the flexible human resource can heighten the competitory, to rush up the development of public building ; and besides provide the domestic labour to the household who is in demand. 2,999 skilled labours were employed from Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Mongolia. ( Foreign Workers Statistic, Council of Labour Affairs ) In 1992, Taiwan had passed the jurisprudence on Employment Services Act and Regulations on the Permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers. The ordinance of foreign labour had good established, more and more foreign labours were employed lawfully by employers. The figure of foreign labour was 15,924 ; Government undertaking history on 6,463, Taiwan authorities was even increasing the limitation on the application of immense investing from 2 billion to 5 billion in 1999, figure of foreign workers gone up to 294,967 in entire. Manufacturing industry is history for 166,000 ; 5,000 in the building industry ; 1,000 in agribusiness ; and the remainder are among cardinal labour force, domestic workers and caretakers. ( Foreign Workers statistic, Council of Labour Affairs ) The 3rd phase from 2000 boulder clay now, during this period, the new authorities physique, new party accent on the human right, hence, the rights of foreign workers were brought up attending. The phenomenon of Globalization had immense impact on Taiwan ; Taiwan had joined WTO in 2002. In order to maintain up with the universe, the issue of human right was extremely accent. Labor Standards Law ( LSL ) announced Every foreign worker in Taiwan, hence, is under the protection of pertinent Torahs. This is based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that All are equal before the jurisprudence and are entitled without any favoritism to equal protection of the jurisprudence. The Employee Benefit Regulations and the Labor Insurance Regulations helped to protect the minimal pay, working hours, working benefits, and benefits from favoritism. ( CLA ) The biggest measure is to take down down the Taiwan agents fee in 2001, this protect the foreign workers from overpaying to those ma npower bureaus. Till the terminal of October 2009, the figure of foreign labours has reached the figure of 37,319. Manufacturing occupations is 195,268, both the domestic assistant and caretaker together in figure of 166,658. ( Foreign Workers statistic, Council of Labour Affairs ) The Council has introduced the foreign labour harmonizing to the rule of supplementation and the bound control under the certain measure by different industries. The current schemes of foreign labour is based on the protection of subjects right to work, the figure of importing foreign labours should non menace the employment chances of local workers. However, the high unemployment rate is striking the local labour earnestly, particularly in the building industry which is about 1 per centum to 2 per centums higher than other industries said by Hu Ho-Tse, president of the National Federation of Chinese Construction Workers Union. In October 2009, the unemployment rate of Taiwan reached 5.96 % . ( Council of Labour Affairs ) Whether to cut the foreign labour has become a immense argument among the industries, Council of Labor Affair, and the national workers ; nevertheless, the representative of industries argue that cutting foreign labour will detain the undertakings and the developme nt of building. It has been a hard clip for Taiwan authorities to do the right determination, Chinese unwilling to make in 3K work and necessitate more salary which may promote the mills to put in cheaper state, in the terminal, the local labours has fewer chances for work. Beside the harm that foreign labours had brought to Taiwan, the part of foreign labour is critical to the economic system and it should be credited for their accomplishment. The Problems behind foreign labour in Taiwan It s been over twenty old ages since the Taiwan authorities legalizes the foreign labour. As a democratic state, it is shame to see the curial intervention we provide for them. In grand 2005, there was a serious presentation against the unethical direction, 300 Thailand labours burn the residence hall and the autos, attack the director and the fireman, this work stoppage revealed the unethical intervention. Thailand labours were beaten by the force. The monthly allowance was merely from 3,000NTD to 5,000NTD, and if it s over 5,000NTD, the company will give the verifier which can merely be used in the store in mills, the director had stolen the money, besides the over clip working hr payment was merely be paid for 40 hours alternatively of the 100 hours, There is no electric or H2O after 10PM. ( Taiwan International Workers Association ) This is merely little portion of jobs. However, the weakest group of foreign labour is those household amahs and in-home caretakers. They are non pre sently covered under the protection of Labor Standards Law ( LSL ) . Without the protection of LSL, there is no warrant for the minimal rewards, working hours, and the on the job conditions. ( Taiwan International Workers Association ) Although Regulations on the permission and Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers stipulate that the Foreign Worker s Affidavit Regarding Expenses Incurred For Entry into the Republic of China to work and the Wages shall be specifically listed the wage and related disbursal after come ining Taiwan, signed by all four paras, employer, foreign worker, agents of both Taiwan and labour directing state, and notarized by the labour directing states prior to foreign workers reaching in Taiwan. ( Council of Labour Affairs ) This is still non plenty to guarantee their human right. They are afraid of the undue repatriation, and the high cost of securities firm fee charged, they choose to digest the unjust intervention. They work over times with no excess payment, no vacation and no their ain private clip, sometimes even got maltreatment with force. Decision Globalization had brought the benefits among states every bit good as competition. Industries had applied Atkinson s work flexibleness theoretical account in order to last. Economy of Taiwan is an illustration of utilizing in-sourcing scheme, greatly connoting both numerical flexibleness and temporal flexibleness. Importing inexpensive foreign labour maximise the net income both for Taiwan authorities and employers. However, some of them did non have the regard as it deserved. Human right should be extremely value particularly in democracy state. Again, we should all carry the best non merely for the employers but besides those difficult working foreign labour.
